Will Maga just watch the sinking ship or admit they were wrong?

That’s looney tunes.
What historical examples are you using to support your idea? Oh that’s right, you heard it from your cult leaders and now you are parroting their propaganda. You never said any of this crap before november because you don’t actually have any cohesive plan.

Well he is alienating the entire first world, Canada, Europe, Australia, bringing you back to 1900. And going forward, we in Canada will never trust the US again, as your trade agreements may as well be on toilet paper. I am getting ready to live in impoverishment for the next decade.

Any MAGA that are deep in the cult will never admit that they were wrong. Those who have admitted to regretting their votes seem to be those who voted partyline because they always vote for a R or young people who voted for Trump because of Palestine.

Why would Republicans admit their vote was wrong? They won! So obviously their vote accomplished what they wanted it to. We're the ones who won't admit to being wrong. Which of our policies have we changed in response to the voters rejection of our platform? None.

We keep telling ourselves that the stock market or federal layoffs or Ukraine funding are the ultimate outcomes of politics, but those are all second derivatives. What matters first is winning and losing elections and being in or out of power. We just got booted out of power. Obviously we are the ones who should admit we were wrong. Something about our policies, personalities, and performance caused us to be rejected by the voters. We should figure out what it was and correct it.

I'm a local professor. I've talked to hundreds of young voters to try to find out what happened, and these are the 2 things I heard from them:
1. Palestine. They wanted a hard stance against Israel and pro-Palestine. They were very put off by Harris' statement “Israel has a right to go after the terrorists that are Hamas,” and believe that Israel did not do that. They think Israel went in like a bull in a china shop and caused as much destruction as possible and it wasn't a fair fight because Israel is so much more powerful than Palestine. They believe Israel used the attack as an excuse to eliminate as many Palestinians as possible not just Hamas.

2. The Harris campaign had a lack of direction. They don't think she had a firm stance on any policies. They do recognize that this was due to the restricted time she had to campaign, but they also believe that she was too meek to take any stances that were anti anything Biden believed or against any policies Biden had made.

People 18-44 overwhelming voted for Harris. However, people 18-25 overwhelming abstained from voting for a POTUS at all. I had 212 students during my Fall 2024 semester. Of those, 191 were registered to vote. Of those 191, only 54 voted for a Presidential candidate (52 Harris, 2 Trump).

I have 220 students for my Spring 2025 semester. 208 are registered voters; 68 voted for Harris; 4 voted for Trump; 1 voted 3rd party, and the other 135 did not cast a vote for a Presidential candidate.

Those are small sample sizes, but if that pattern continues across all campuses, as I believe it does, that is what sunk the Democrats this last go around.

Well, they are the ones who will have to live with the repercussions of electing Trump after the older people are gone. So I hope they are happy with what they did.

The failure lies with the party. Their job is to win votes. They failed to do so, and the youth vote was very clear what it would take. The party chose not to listen. The party got Trump elected. And the party will continue to lose until it decides it wants to win votes again.

No, the Dems didn’t fail. Elon bought the election and childish college students (and Michigan) took a misguided “stand on Israel.”

Now, Trump is posting videos of him and Netanyahu sunbathing on a rebuilt Gaza beach with Trump Towers in the background. I hope all those kids are happy with their protest vote. I’m sure the people of Gaza really appreciate their moral outrage.

I’m so over people not voting in their own interests that I don’t care if the Dems ever get back in. I’m going to be fine. Let these kids FAFO. I hope R’s take away all their student loans.

exactly. That is what gets so mired with all the chaos that is happening. The Democrats didn’t mess anything up with their campaign. Elon paid for the results of the selection. So much disinformation across all kinds of social media platforms. Trump never had a plan for any of the problems that people were complaining about prior to the election. and Trump didn’t even get 50% of the popular vote.

You have to convince people to vote for you. You failed to do so. This is why you lost. There's no other reason. Your platform and your candidate failed to win the most votes. The whole bully and shame people into voting D doesn't work. Try a new strategy. Maybe listening to what people say they want.

In summary, make sure a white man is the nominee.

I say the party should try listening to it's constituents, you twist it into "the constituents are racist." Still don't understand why you lost?

Housing, healthcare, standard of living, no support for genocide. The candidate could've been blue, and you'd win on that platform.

100% agree.

Unfortunately, looks like democratic leadership has not realized why they lost or is doing anything to change that. Or, equally likely, they don't care because they get to stay in their positions.

It's not about being "nice." It's about the fact that we vote for people to REPRESENT us. Meaning they are supposed to act in our name and do what WE WANT. If the voters are saying they want something from their elected representatives, and those representatives ignore them, it should surprise no one that those voters choose not to vote for those representatives. Why does the democratic party and so many on DCUM not understand that?

If you want the youth vote, you have to listen to their concerns. If you dismiss their concerns, they won't vote for you. End of story.

Hey dumbass. It’s been shown time and again that the democrats have the more popular platform.

Go to a flyover state and survey some swing voters. Ask them how they liked the Democratic Party platform on illegal immigration, on DEI quotas preventing white men from getting hired or promoted, on trans folks in girls' sports, on LGBTQIA+ sex ed in elementary schools, on deficit spending, on endless wars, etc.

Democrats quite obviously REFUSE to change policies, even when they are unpopular.

The US is continuing to provide military support for both Israel and Ukraine, so just maybe that's a US position and not a Democrat position. And as you know, Trump knows how to do deficit spending at record levels. And why no mention of the economy and coming stagflation? That's really what fundamentally drives swing voters.

They just didn’t know those were her policies.
Or worse. They thought they were republican policies.

My Maga relatives are NOT pleased with Musk talking about social security.

Even though the white house came out and reassured the public that social security is safe, they don't trust Musk.

I am loving it! The tides are turning. The maga love for Musk is fading.

Musk needs to learn that you don't don't F with social security because that's ALL the retirement most Magas have.

Most of my Maga relatives don't have 401ks or IRAs. They never had jobs that provided those things or never invested on their own because they are mostly paycheck-to-paycheck people. Social security IS their retirement plan and safety net.

Even MAGA knows that Trump is a pathological liar. It's just that those lies were convenient and/or funny to them at the time. But now that social security is the topic, those lies aren't as convenient or funny.

And democrats failed before them. The "economy" is completely divorced from what the average person experiences and cares about. People couldn't afford groceries, and the Dems hand waived their concerns away. Trump won't fix it, but people really had no good choices. From their perspective Trump is entertaining, and he says things that make them *feel* good. People will retreat into reactionary politics if their material needs are not being met. That's how fascists always rise.

"Voters prefer less illegal immigration."
"That's stupid! Illegal immigration helps the economy! Voters are idiots!"
"Okay, suit yourself."

That isn’t what anyone is saying.
but that’s not even considering the fact that people preferred Harris’ platform by a large margin. They liked her ideas. They agreed with her policy proposals.
They just didn’t know those were her policies.
Or worse. They thought they were republican policies.

Democrats' policies are so outrageous, people assume republicans are lying.

You are functionally illiterate. Your stupidity is boring.

You may be overestimating the importance of Canada to your financial health. I love the idea that American progress over the past 125 years was dependent on....Canada!

All Republican voters are stupid. Not just the stupid racist rednecks. But even the affluent Republicans in DC. There may be more Republican voters than Democratic voters now, but they are ALL stupid and we need to keep telling them that. It hasn't been the BEST campaign strategy so far, but if the stock market goes down for another week, all Republicans will admit their stupidity and beg for Trump to step aside for Kamala Harris.

The poster said “We in Canada…”

A lot of towns along the border are going to get hard. A lot of beach towns in the eastern US are going to get hit hard. This is what happens when you piss off your best friend.
