Petition about residential treatment ctr by Greenwood Elementary

I feel badly for the staff working there. When I was a young, new teacher I often stayed quite late into the evening or arrived really early in the morning. The google link above has a picture of the staff parking lot that is right next to the facility. I wonder how long until their cars are broken into. Has that been posted here and I missed it?

I would not have felt comfortable staying arriving early or staying late when it gets dark early next to a facility that houses a "high-intensity programs for adults who cannot be treated outside of a 24/7 facility due to severe physical or psychological problems or severe impulse control problems, or because they display dangerous symptoms that require 24-hour monitoring".

And that’s just in the two existing homes. The company also bought a third plot of land next door and you better bet they’ll be building another house there soon. And then a few more after that… any MoCo neighborhood could be next.

That was pointed out in the meeting and Dawn Ludtke dismissed it.

It was. But it hadn’t been mentioned on this platform yet and many previous posts refer to “16 patients”. Glad someone clarified the rapid turnover.

Now Leudtke is posting things to the Tanterra facebook group, "anonymous member" with commenting ability turned off. Nice.

What is she posting?

To the official HOA group? Olney Mill should also be included in this, we are also zoned for Greenwood.

Can you share to the Olney 2.0 group?

It’s just her “response” to the community, which was also posted above in this thread, probably by her office. My point was more that they’re always turning off commenting or getting Facebook conversations deleted entirely. They are actively silencing the community. What a shameful way to conduct oneself as a politician.

Absolutely agree. She did the same thing at the meeting, talked over everyone, cut people off before they were finished, etc. She can keep giving the same excuses and silencing/ scolding the community but this will never be okay. Remember it in 2026 and tell all your friends and neighbors.

Thank you for clarifying the response. I received it via email.

I have a feeling that the Facebook comments and conversations are being deleted because they are personally affected or are people who have gone through rehab themselves. Why else police it?

I think we’re able to have these conversations in the new 2.0 group.

I saw the signage in the neighborhood asking for people to sign the petition against the center! I'm glad the parents are taking a strong stand.

Has anyone heard a word from Jawando? Lots of folks have reached out to him for help and he’s not responding.

A petition will not do anything. You need a high powered attorney to file a suit.

The Greater Olney News wrote a story about the safety meeting. I wanted to link it but the news website is outdated. The article highlighted the mom who asked Luedtke to assure her son would be safe and her reply "I am for more concerned about physical violence in the school system than I am from this,".

Also that no one either at the in person meeting or over zoom spoke in favor of the facility.

The reporter missed an opportunity to quote the "I'm highly electable" bit.

If you have the newspaper you can read the entire article. It arrived yesterday.

This isn't evidence of anything. No one is going to even say, "You know, I think this is not going to be that big a deal" in these meetings, never mind something more favorable towards the facility. People who have done so in the Olney Facebook group have been basically told to shut up by the people who are most loudly opposed.
