Well said! Players are the victims here not the coaches and staff |
Victims of what? Clubs are providing a product to their customers (players/parents). The league is NOT their product. The product is the coaching and the environment which is not changing. |
Thanks Loudoun management. Appreciate the support. |
| What a big fraud that travel soccer has become. There really is no development, loyalty or anything close. |
In other words, shut up and pay to play. Haha, LS/NVA management is top notch. |
Im not part of the NVA/Loudoun management. I just think the way parents are approaching their decision making in regards to team selection is so wrong. Some of the most valuable lessons that I got from my playing time were the importance of commitment- to the team, to the sport, and to yourself. Moving teams every season chasing a league badge does nothing to build the qualities ACTUALLY needed to be a successful player. It does not teach or reinforce the commitment, dedication and ownership needed to be a successful player or person. These decisions also completely undermine and undervalue the connections built between teammates, and the work put in by a coach to build a team and develop players. The decision to move to a new team should be about finding an environment that matches the values and goals of the player, the league is a small part of that but FAR from the entirety of the equation. |
Who is moving every season to chase a league badge? They were at the top (ECNL) and changed teams to stay at the top, to play better competition, and from the sounds of it they left in groups and were able to stick together with some of their teammates. ECNL consolidation only makes it more competitive to get on those teams. Dont think you know what is required to be a successful player. |
Sure, buddy. Even if you're not, you don't understand the implications of shifting from ECNL to GA, especially in the critical recruiting ages. The advantage that ECNL has right now over GA is huge. There are a lot more eyes on ECNL teams than there are on GA ones. That's a fact. Yes the team matters, for sure - I'm not saying you can't be recruited from a GA team, but it is more difficult. Plus, the level of competition is lower, unless you make the Champions League in GA, and if you want to play at the next level you need to play with/against better players. For younger age groups (pre-HS), maybe this doesn't matter if GA gains strength and start pulling teams that matter into the GA, but for now, it matters a ton. |
I'm glad to see someone finally acknowledging other age groups when it comes to this situation. I was just about to comment that for the older age groups who's time for recruiting is dwindling I can totally understand moving clubs to stay in Ecnl. If you're U13 and under, are outraged and club jumping because of the switch that's crazy. The issue is people are making generalized comments but only with THEIR situation in mind. |
shiiiii dont know what your talking about. Its Mr Grumpy that has my DD team leaving in droves. Kids are old enough to band together and made choices. Dont say its us. I dang sure is them. Anyways good look in the future yall |
You should really find another affected persona to use to make your point. Sometimes, what you say is reasonable. However, your "down hominess" is terrible. Maybe try hippie talk? How about ESL? Valley Girl? That would be fun. |
| The local club players who claim ECNL is better are just wrong. Coaches look for well developed players and LS just doesn’t do a good job of preparing girls for the college game. Arlington, Va and McLean do. The college coaches will reach out to club coaches or private high school coaches that they know develop players to compete at the college game. If your player doesn’t get developed properly, it doesn’t matter what league they play in. Mostly same coaches attending ECNL and ga events. Then there are the club showcases. Any team who can get into a club showcase can get exposure to a coach. Example…recent VDA showcase….almost every acc school had a coach show up to watch a ga club game because they wanted to see certain players compete. There are many LS girls who aren’t the full package. Have one good skill but lacking in so many other areas. College coaches don’t recruit that player or if they do, the player doesn’t last at the next level. |
Are you talking about when Revolution played Vda? Coaches were there to see Vda. No ACC school is showing up to see revolution. Nice try. |
totally!!! I have no clue what your talking about. Its Mr Grumpy that has my DD team running for the hills. Kids totally are old enough to band together and play with besties. Totally dont blame the messenger dude and totally rock it next season!!! - valleygpt help |
Actually u never know. Someone and their wife has the connections to grab college coaches attention. In ga and ecnl. |
