exactly, where were her parents?

Are you also wondering if she was dressed like she was asking for it?

It is more than reasonable for parents to know the whereabouts of their 13 year old CHILD.

There was a viral indie movie back then called “Thirteen” (?) about 13 yo girls sneaking out of the house and doing very adult things.

PP here. Wouldn't have happened in my mom's home!

Well good for you…?

I live in nyc and have 2 daughters, 12 & 15. They are both smart and independent kids, they take the subway and go all over nyc on their own to visit friends and attend their after school activities as do most of their similarly-aged friends. My older daughter even - gasp - goes to parties and concerts on her own (with friends) sometimes now that she’s in hs but she doesn’t drink because she’s a performer and doesn’t like how it makes her feel (she has tried small amounts of alcohol at home under supervision) and she abhors smoking and drugs. I would trust her to be in most different types of spaces because she knows her limits and how to keep herself safe. She also has self defense training and carries an alarm with her.
It’s mostly the kids who are overly sheltered and coddled by their parents, and parents who treat teens like children, who don’t know how to handle themselves and make really dumb choices like snaking out, going to inappropriate parties and binge drinking. Most kids who are given safe boundaries and allowed to learn by experience may have an uncomfortable moment or two but mostly grow up to understand how to handle themselves. Parent your kids but also realize that part of parenting is letting them learn how to grow up.

I am extremely sorry for this child who endured horrible experiences and I’m not at all surprised that JayZ is a child molesting creep.

Bad parenting is bad parenting. You do you.

A lot of people think Beyoncé was groomed like R Kelly groomed Aaliyah

If Beyoncé was groomed, she was groomed by her father and mother. She has been in the music business since she was seven or eight years of age singing at those stupid local events, and then Star Search at eleven.

I went to law school with Tony Buzbee. He's kind of obnoxious but he's a good lawyer. He doesn't need to extort anyone to make money. He's already rich.

He’s rich because he extorts money. Check.

This is a re-filing or an amendment of a previously filed lawsuit and I read the original when it came out. In 2000, this 13 yr old who lived in or near NYC got a ride to Radio City Music Hall to try to crash the VMAs because she didn’t have a ticket. She’s a local. She tried to literally walk in but was denied so she started asking all the limo drivers of the limos parked in front if they could get her in and she happened to speak with Combs driver.

That driver said he couldn’t get her into the VMAs but what he could do was get her into Combs after party if she wanted and she said sure, got in the limo and he drove her out to Combs house where they were started the party. She said she drank some alcohol, started to feel bad and went into a room to lay down. That’s where Combs and perhaps Jay Z found her, etc.

What happened after the attack was that she was able to flee the house NAKED, a driver outside gave her some clothes and a ride to a gas station where she went inside, asked to use their phone and called her father. There were not cell phones back then.

It’s a horrible story. Sounds like a teen who impulsively tried something a bit nuts without her parents permission and it spiraled out of control and without cell phones or tracking she could call for help and no one knew where she was.

Why wasn’t Jay Z charged with a crime in 2000?

Shame and confusion. The girl was drunk and didn’t know if she consented or not and probably self doubt and blame and didn’t want her parents angry and freaked out at her for sneaking out to a party at 13.

Women that are raped rarely report it the day after because the process of getting a rape kit and going to court and having family aware is all dehumanizing and perturbing.

We do need a better system. We can’t prove 25 years later that she’s telling the truth or lying. Any forensics are long gone. All we have is her story and his story and the truth.

I am prone to believe her though because 1999 VMA after party is a very specific location and the driver of Diddy’s can also be confirmed as well if he’s still living.

Surely her father would have noticed his naked daughter when he picked her up from the gas station and called the police.

Called the police? Have you ever dealt with the police? I have, including for sexual assault and stalking and they're about the least helpful people you could reach out to in a moment of crisis. I'm a wealthy, white WASP too I can't even imagine the fear with anyone with "complicating factors."

Well I’m not a wealthy, white wasp, and yes I’ve called the police when I was assaulted. GtFOH with your BS. I have a report. That’s the least a father could do when he finds his daughter half naked, claiming a sexual assault. Did he take her to the hospital to make sure she was okay. A rape swab. A prescription for a morning after pill. The nerve to think a parent would not do that near minimum. Surely there’s some evidence that this actually happened and it’s not a free for all money grab.

Not saying it did happen, but I’m not saying or convinced it did happen. It’s like people who jump on a metro bus after a collision and claim they were hurt in the collision and want a quick payout. Yet these people were no where around when the collision happened and real victims were hurt.

I hate to break it to you but your 15 year old daughter doesn’t know her limits and how to keep herself safe as much as you’d like to think. She’s 15 and if any man works hard enough, he can make her doubt herself enough and convince her to do just about anything.
- also having grown up in NYC and didn’t smoke or do drugs

Puff-Daddy and JayZ are such disgusting slimeball thugs.

Can anyone explain why people look up to either of these idiots?

Actually Beyonce has said different ages in different interviews and once she said 16 or 17?

She told People she was 18.

I was wondering where jay z was at after combs was arrested. He definitely went into quiet mode. And now he shows up with kids and wife, perfect family guy. So obvious and predictable. I don’t feel sorry for Beyoncé because she knows what he’s capable of, btw, whatever happened to believe all women? When he pulled the Brooklyn code garbage I knew he was lying.

No. Jay was a drug dealer in Brooklyn. Lowest of the low.

It's time for Solange Knowles to give Jay-Z another slap in the face.

That elevator incident really made me question what I knew about Jay Z. She’s not a crazy person with numerous instances of assaulting people and flying off the handle. I felt like he was probably not a good person when I saw that.
