Agree! She’s so pretty.

And Garrett isn't good enough for her. She needs a partner who can match her wit, not someone who couldn't come up with a movie better than Shrek.

DP, but to be fair, my DHs fave movie is Shrek 2 so he found it hilarious. Maybe he just thought of his favorite movie and not one that matched with her

I only have finished the first episode but he gave off very racist vibes when he was so completely thrown that she was not white. And claimed she was calculating by not sharing it. Did he explicitly tell her he was white or did he just assume that was the default. Yuck.

I couldn't believe how many times she dropped the F-bomb. In front of her (yes, I know, adult) kids. In a restaurant. While being filmed. And while yes, Marissa should have a prenup the way her mom talked about it made it sound like "I want to make sure you don't get any money she makes so she can give it to me."

Is that surprising? You can tell she's trashy. She called Marissa a B.

. This raised red flags for me too. I think he was so relieved when he saw she was half white half Asian at the reveal. Not sure what his reaction would’ve been if she were fully Asian or god forbid, a different skin tone. He grew on me in the last episodes but I have a hard time imagining he’ll be happy moving away from everything in his life to San Diego.

Taylor’s place was definitely in DC. And someone else, I forget who, lives in Baltimore. This isn’t at all weird for the show. They always cast people from the area around the title city. But something like “Love Is Blind: In and Around Dallas” doesn’t sound nearly as nice.

I think Marissa talked about commuting from Baltimore while in the Arlington apartment, which was killing her.

+1

The language was over the top and the tongue ring was an odd choice for someone her age and this decade. Seems out of style. very irritating how she universalizes her experiences. There are plenty of people whose marriages last “forever” (until death) so she can’t say that marriage doesn’t last anymore than someone else can say it can.

And I guarantee you she will have her hand out when Marissa starts making money.

Hannah is not very nice and she's immature. Nick is not completely independent but he has a job and is willing to pay the bills. She was mean about it I guess because she thinks this makes her a better person? She is weird.

Not sure about any of the other couples. They're all maybes though Garrett and Taylor are probably the best fit.

I thought Ramses was the good pick but now I think Bodhun would have been better for Marissa. They have the military in common and it sounds like it was a huge part of her life and identity.

Nick would be like marrying a boy. He is 28 and can’t boil water? To someone who has been on her own since age 18…how can you admire such an incompetent adult? She actually has shown restraint in reacting, as his dependence on his parents has revealed itself.

This was so weird - the scene (day?) before he was talking about how many different dishes he could make, and he definitely said pasta. But he doesnt know how TF to boil water? Huh??

I agree that she actually showed real maturity and grace with that - her meeting his parents was so sweet. She pointed it out to his mom, but also recognized that they had different upbringings. I really appreciated how mature she seemed in that scene.

He does know how to, but he’s so scared of Hannah being a B to him, that he has to make sure the amount of water used it OK with her.

If you are right, that is just more evidence of his immaturity!

What would it even say if she liked you??

I just think that women has had such a traumatic life, that she perceives all new humans as the enemy.

To quote her own daughter, “She should be in therapy.”

A woman like Marissa who is rising out of poverty through so much effort and work does not need a lazy, flaky lesson-giving misogynist like Ramses dragging her down. I am team her mom solely on that topic. She seems messed up and impulsive and like she picked bad men, and she sees Marissa doing the same thing she did. I will be upset if she says yes at the wedding.

Does Ramses even have a good job? He works for a justice-reform non-profit. So ... probably not a big earner. Maybe he and Nick can take a cooking class together - he also seemed to have trouble knowing how to make pasta.

I liked Hannah's family - both her middle brother and her parents. I thought they had a realistic view of her and also what a relationship takes. I remember in the pods Hannah made some comment about how good looking her mom is. She's pretty. Hannah does seem insecure about it though.
