Can you explain the connection you're trying to make here?

Yes sure - it is hypocritical.

Because…..this new venture negates all of their philanthropy??

Because they made a huge stink during their departure from the BFR about "service is universal" and their foundation, and their unique position to contribute to positive change. They are "philanthropists" and "activists" oh but also luxury lifestyle tastemakers and hucksters? It is inconsistent garbage.

Most of us are — and do — multiple things. Sometimes even simultaneously.

Stop shilling for them. They said they were going to use their fame and celebrity for charitable causes. We haven't seen them doing that. If they are, they aren't publicizing it. Their emphasis on this, and trashy book sales, etc., makes them look like they are no longer committed to their original promises.

This kind of thing wouldn't work in 2024 a lot of what see posted had fallen out of vogue, to say the least, example it's no longer acceptable to do photoshoots with orphans in foreign countries.

Blogging like this without updating with current trends would turn people against her more than there already is

You don’t understand what 2.0 means.

Yeah, I can afford the wine and reputation repair via shallow charity photo ops ain’t the business.

I wrote that she should have followed a model more like Tabitha Brown— you cannot successfully, historically, shill “classy” while selling cheap sh!t. Goop works the nerves, but those clothes are cashmere and other decent fibers and made in Italy. It’s consistent. Her messaging is already a mess, and she’s already in “a fashion show with no fashions? How dreadful” zone. Silly, unforced errors.

Why orchard and not vineyard?

Blogs aren't really a thing anymore.

Even if she were to start her page again there's not much she could talk about that wouldn't get her reamed for all sorts of PC violations.

Instead of being indignant and lashing out at everyone who has a critique- you should be quietly registering the feedback and bringing it to your boss.

Probably because America Riviera Vineyard was trademarked. I'd be willing to wager she/they wanted a different name but ran into trademark issues.

Why not add a 4th word? (Muttley laugh). It’s chic! It’s America! It’s vaguely European! It’s got bird houses and nut buttahs! It’s the American. Riviera.
Orchard. Vineyard! Catalina! Wine! Mixerrrr!

In general, I am pretty neutral on her, but a lifestyle brand - really? This seems years behind the curve and kind of inauthentic. Better to have kept the original blog.

She needs to do something and stick with it. My perception is that there's a lot of flitting to new projects when something doesn't immediately work out. That's going to wear out the Duchess of Sussex "brand" quickly.

I mean, Bill Simmons didn’t give a post-Archetypes assessment of “those crazy in love kids really add value to whatever they do.”
