Hey, Op, is she still marching at the back of the line? |
Op, what’s the update? |
Never said a word, just like I never have any time she has received a punishment from a teacher since she started school.
That runs counter to the narrative everyone projected on here about me being a snowflake parent that is responsible for teachers fleeing the biz because I refuse to allow my child to be disciplined, but it's the truth. The point missed on all 12 pages of this is that I have no issue with the consequence, but rather the fact that there was no chance to prove rehabilitation. This was not a decision for the day, or the week. It was more than two months of day-in, day-out consequences, delivered publicly in front of other students as a punishment for poor behavior. Clearly, line-talking is the gravest sin of all sins. May you never have one in your home. |
You could talk with the teacher about your perspective and what your DC is experiencing. I think it’s overly long of a punishment. Geez, the kid is in elementary school. |
Oh, you’re just here for the melodrama and attention. Thanks for letting us know. |
Yeah no. Never disciplining your child is. |
Raise the issue and have a meeting with the principal and the assistant superintendent about it. |
Is this serious? God help the teachers of the children whose parents believe this is an appropriate response to making a child walk in the back of a line. |
No, you should start with the teacher first. |
OMG. |
OP. It is a natural consequence. Be grateful for a teacher who is attempting to help your child learn a lesson. |
I think the PP was messing with the OP. |
She never said a word and was punished. Nope, your DD is not telling you everything. |
+1 |
The reading comprehension levels on this thread are not so hot.
*I am the OP*, ****I**** never said a word, as one might be able to infer from the next few phrases: Never said a word, just like I never have any time she has received a punishment from a teacher since she started school. That runs counter to the narrative everyone projected on here about me being a snowflake parent that is responsible for teachers fleeing the biz because I refuse to allow my child to be disciplined, but it's the truth. ****What kind of dimwit thinks that means I am claiming my child never said a word? |
