smittenkitchen.com, davidlebovitz.com. David Lebovitz writes a lot about food in paris, where he lives, but also about baking, and his travels around europe and the u.s.

I like:
The Wednesday Chef - nice recipes and style http://www.thewednesdaychef.com/the_wednesday_chef/
The Garden of Eating - lots of really good vegetable recipes, baked goods and some meat, too and nice pix http://gardenofeatingblog.blogspot.com/
101 Cookbooks - super healthy (sometimes a tiny bit too much for my taste) but good recipes and nice photos - very northern CA http://www.101cookbooks.com/
La Tartine Gourmande (such beautiful pix though I admit I almost never make any of the recipes) http://www.latartinegourmande.com/
Smitten Kitchen - good, not very healthy recipes http://smittenkitchen.com/
Mark Bittman - very versatile - http://markbittman.com/

Alinea at Home: A blogger cooks through the Alinea (Chicago restaurant) cookbook. She did this with Thomas Keller's French Laundry cookbook as well. Great writer. I also want to be her friend. She's local. It could happen.
