What happens if we move in September?

There is a SLIGHT chance that we could move after school starts next year--from one MoCo area to another about 5 miles away--different school district unfortunately. One of our dc (3rd grade next yr) has SN, though is mainstreamed--but excels in current school. Any chance MCPS would let dc to stay at current school if we move to next district, due to excelling with supports at current school? If they acccept request, would it just be for one yr, or assume we could stay through elem?

From the MCPS website on transfers for hardship etc.:

"Family Relocation: When a family moves within Montgomery County, preference to remain in the original school will be considered to complete the current school year only....'
