Do you have wooden kitchen floors?

Anonymous
If so, would you do it again, do you like them?
How long have you have them, have they been durable?
Anonymous
Yes. Have had them 10 years with a dog and 2 kids. No issues. they are a bit scuffed where the counter stools and pushed back and forth though.

funny, i am just about to sign a lease for an apartment with wooden kitchen floors and was wondering if i would have to put down a mat or a rug...

We've had them for a couple of years and they've worked for us. I have say, however, we've dropped something really heavy on them once or twice and there is a slight dent. No big deal but that may not have happened with tile. But, with tile, there probably would have been a crack.

Oh, we have a toddler and a dog.

We've had them for 6 yrs and love them. Two big dogs and one toddler.

How do you sanitize them?

Have them, put them in 3 years ago. We have 2 kids, a dog and a cat. I would definitely do it again.

We clean them. But since we don't eat off the floor, we don't sanitize them.

Yes, they are great. Just wipe us spills, nice looking, love it.

I grew up with them and have had them in my house for years and really like them. They will dent but they do that in other rooms and they've held up well.

I'm on my second house with wood floors in the kitchen. I'm remodeling my kitchen and replacing with nice stone tile. I don't like the fact that they get all scratched up, since the kitchen is a high traffic area.

Have them, love them. Yes, they dent occasionally, but that small amount of softness means that dropped glasses and mugs don't shatter into a million pieces. So what do you want to give when you drop something?

What happens if liquids spill on them, and no one sees that for some time (as happens in my home all the time)

Yes, and I'm using wood again for our new house that we're currently renovating. I grew up with wood floors in the kitchen and have never had a problem with them. I personally think tile is hideous.

I definitly would rather break a $5 mug over denting my kitchen floors.
