Tag Heuer battery replacement?

Anonymous
Trying to find a good place to replace the battery in my Tag Heuer. I figured an authorized dealer would be best, but the one I called charges $75 and needs to hold the watch for 3 days. Anyone know of a better option?

I had a watch appraised at Liljenquist & Beckstead Jewelers at Tysons Galleria. They were fast and reasonable. I am not sure what a battery replacement would be. They tend to run more b/c of sealing it.

I have had this done multiple time - to get a Tag battery replaced it needs to go to an authorized dealer and this is what it costs / the time it takes.

You do not want to just give it to anyone as the seal in the back needs to be done the right way. (at least this is what I have been told).

I have had my husbands Tag battery replaced twice at Charlie's clock and watch shop near Fairfax Circle. No problems whatsoever. I did have to leave it though. Was less than 20 dollars.

I had mine done at Boone and Sons downtown, $75 and it took about a week

I've had my tag for over 10 years, and always about $75. You can call different jewelers and find out the day (or days) of the week that the Tag rep comes to pick them up- then drop it off based on when he'll be there.

So the jeweler doesn't do the work but a Tag specialist?

If you want to be sure it is pressure tested and sealed properly, it is probably best...

The best place I have found is Swiss Watch Repair on Wisconsin in Georgetown (at P or Q). Great service, know what they are doing with Tags, takes about 20 minutes, and is about $25.
