A question for those on their first pregnancy...

...at what point did you first start to develop that little pregnancy "pooch"? I'm not talking about when you actually start showing to other people, but when you can tell looking at your bare belly that something's pooching out more than it was before and your jeans start to feel tight in the waist? I guess I'd call it the start of the looking fat stage.

I'm definitely seeing it at 9 1/2 weeks but I'm not sure how much to attribute to pregnancy vs too much eating.

My baby is a year old so my memory is rusty, but I think it was around where you are. But I do remember reading that at that point, any poochiness is likely just bloating, not baby and not necessarily too much eating.

I started feeling a little uncomfortable at around 10 weeks and starting wearing a belly band at 11 weeks or so. I turned to full-on maternity clothes at 14 weeks. My belly definitely got bigger in the first trimester, even though I was eating relatively little (nausea) and actually lost 5 pounds.

My very beginnings of the pooch happened at 8-9 weeks (although my clothes definitely still fit). I was quite bloated looking and have pictures in a bathing suit to prove it! I then needed to unzip my pants with a tank over them from about week 9 - week 12. I started wearing maternity pants around week 13 (even though I could have worn that band, which I hated).

I am currently 14 weeks. I noticed a bit of a pooch around 9/10 weeks, but I am still wearing regular clothes. I can button my jeans but I started using the "rubber band trick" just becuase it feels more comfortable. I pretty much wear dresses every day so I don't really notice clothes being overly tight yet. I never really gained weight in my stomach before now so I feel like it is really obvious (but no one else notices) ha ha

I know what you mean, but I would attribute the early "belly/pooch" to bloating. I had it until about 11 weeks, then it went away for a good week and a half to two weeks. I just started wearing maternity clothes around 16/17 weeks. I also had pants that were a size bigger than I was wearing, pre-pregnancy, because I had gained weight last year and bought pants a size up, but then lost the weight by the end of the year. So that may be why I could fit into regular clothes for so long. I really didn't start noticing a real belly though until around 17/18 weeks. I guess it's just me though, I am short and petite to begin with.

I am 15 weeks now and am still wearing reagular clothes, no bands or rubberbands. I had a super flat stomach before (my pride and joy!) so I noticed it right away, like 5-6 weeks. But I do have to say that at 7-8 weeks I felt bigger, because of being bloated, then I do now at 15. I have a pooch now but it's only noticeable to me.

22 weeks now. I noticed a bigger belly around 9-10 weeks and until 12 was doing the rubber band. I still remember trying on maternity pants at 12 weeks exactly and feeling like I didn't want to take them off, ever! Lol!

Around 18 weeks I couldn't button my jeans. 20 weeks I bought some citizens maternity jeans on eBay and love them!! I would say that currently at 28 weeks I'm 1/2 in maternity clothes and 1/2 in regular shirts/dresses (not trousers!). I'm also petite and all belly and boobs (gigantic!).

It really depends on your body type. I also wouldn't stress too much about wieght gain at this point. Just make good food choices and watch your portion sizes, but don't focus too much on your size.

I'm short and smallish, but I started getting a baby potbelly when I was around 11/12 weeks. Started to use the Bella Band to hold up my pants. Was probably a little bloated before that, but able to fit comfortably into my regular clothes. By 20 weeks I was showing. Now 30 weeks and I already feel huge - all tummy and boobs. Look a little bit like an egg with legs .
