when a contraction starts and ends. Is this because it's not the real thing and only BH? |
I knew because I had a little bit of bleeding first (bloody show) which alot of people don't get. I found them to be very painful-I think with BH they are very random but with real ones they are consistent with how far apart they are-not totally sure-I guess you have to ask the dr if you are not sure. |
You will know when it is the real deal, because it will be so painful you will be desperately waiting for it to stop. I had lots of weird cramp-y , tightening sort of things before (only knew they were contractions b/c I had them while on a fetal monitor at an ob appt and they told me). But when I was in labor I knew...it was very different. |
You only need to pay attention to when the contraction starts. Time them from the beginning of the first contraction to the beginning of the second, etc. They will come in waves. They should get closer and closer together. It's pretty obvious (from my experience at least). |
You will definitely know when it' s the real deal -- the pain factor will clue you in and there will be an obvious start/end to the contraction. BH is a totally different sensation. |
My contractions didn't start off painful, but I still new it was the real deal because they just felt different. They became fairly predictable and were much more noticeable. But I definitely would not call them painful (in the beginning). I would guess that if you're wondering, then they're probably still BH. |
