What did you get your secretary for Secretary's Day?

I got her a nice box of chocolates. Since I'm pregnant, chocolates really appealed to me! I share my secretary with another person and I think she got her a gift card. But, I overhead complaining about not receiving roses. Are roses the expected gift?

I'm sorry, you get a paycheck to do your job and a special gift on admin day? Seriously?

Admin., secretary, whatever title, is one of the three most stessful jobs because they have no, or very little authority, and huge responsibility. You are never going to be in the running for "Boss of the year," are you?

I didn't get anything. But that's because I'm my own secretary.

Yet they applied for the job and receive a paycheck. Having no authority means they are entitled to a gift on a special day? Mmmmkay.

They have no official authority but they have a lot of power in the form of information. At least that's what management courses usually say.

I worked my way through college as a secretary and they do have a lot of unseen and unknown power because they can make their boss look stupid or smart. I no longer have a secretary, because I'm my own now, as well, but when I did have one, I treated her well.
