I have to spend some time in Bethesda for work. What are your favorite restaurants there? I go to Tako Grill and Jaleo and Cafe Deluxe, but that's about it. Recommendations?
Don Pollo, Moby Dick's, Mia's, Passage to India.
any others?
Persimmon, grapeseed, second passage to India. BGR. Sweetgreen
raku, mon ami gabi, dehli dhaba, hinode
Penang!

Guardados for Latin American tapas.
Bangkok One - I don't know why they are always empty (and it makes me worry they will soon go away!), but they have been delicious every time I have gone, so much better than Tara Thai or Sala Thai. I prefer Haandi to Passage to India. I second Mia's. BGR also has my favorite veggie burger in town. I am actually not a fan of a lot of the other restaurants mentioned here, but just goes to show that tastes are highly personal. |
I really like La Panetteria for Italian food. Rustic and cozy place.
Another vote for Persimmon.
Ive been to India several times, and Angeethi is a much better Indian place than Haandi. For burgers I like Fresh Grill. Nest Cafe is good too.
Redwood
you have to try Taylor Gourmet for sandwiches. i also like Grapeseed Bistro and Persimmon for more hoitytoity digs -- the food is very good.

Bistro Monte Carlo American Tap Room Redwood Nest Cafe Louisiana Kitchen Aji-Nippon Parker's Mon Ami Gabi Ri Ra Flanagan's Harp & Fiddle Rock Bottom Brewery That deli over in the Bradley Shopping Center with Stroesniders makes great sandwiches. Raku's ok but eating inside makes me feel like a sardine. I hear Mussel Bar is good, but sadly DH is deathly allergic, so I haven't been yet. Pines of Romes is a love it or hate it place. They have good Italian for really cheap prices. I think you will like it as long as you stay away from the red sauce, which is not so much a sauce as a can of whole tomato someone heated up and tossed with the pasta. Try the veal, it's the best in the city........ |
I almost forgot City Lights of Bethesda. Best Chinese in the city.
Mussel bar is over-priced and over-crowded. They don't even make their own french fries, which is inexcusable for a moules and frites place, in my book.
