Seriously? Is it possible that a key factor in why this crap continues to happen relates to the transiant population of DC? Those who come to this town for a short period of time with no intention of staying? I wouldn't be surprised if a candidate's platform was, "I will steal your tax dollars and give it to my friends" and still manages to get elected to office. Why is there no requirement to repay the funds taken? You'd certainly have to pay your property tax or you would lose your house, or your income tax but why don't these corrupt poloticians ever face accountability?
