Annoyed at high charges for free Easter Egg Roll Tix

Anonymous
We were unlucky and did not get chosen in the lottery. It pisses me off that people are now selling their free tickets for $50-100 on Craigslist. I can see a few $ for your trouble to meet me or send me the tix but profiting off free tickets? I am sure this happens every year but I just had to vent...

Then don't buy them... they're tickets to the White House. Of course they're expensive.

I think OP is mad because people sign up for tickets just so they can sell them. It takes away tickets from people who want to go.

Exactly. Additionally, I have an issue with people profiting off tickets they got for free and our tax dollars paid for.

True, true... Hadn't had my coffee yet. That is a waste of tax payers dollars and people shouldn't be profiting from selling free tickets.

Tickets and rules state clearly they're not supposed to be sold and any tix purchased are void (not that they really have any way to check that as you enter...)

Meh, whatever. If you don't want to pay, then don't

The roll really isn't all that.

I would report them!

To both, Craigslist and the White House.

Well, if anyone if willing to pay $150 to stand in a long line for hours in the heat with a bunch of screaming kids, then they get what they deserve. Out the money for a really not very enjoyable time.

The process should absolutely be old style - as in waiting in line at 2 am. That way, the greedy MF's would have to actually NOT be lazy on top of it! This is just wrong.

Or they just make them non-transferable and print names on them. If you can't go you send them back and they can issue them to the next people on the waiting list.

Great & easy idea, hence way too difficult for the Governement to implement.

They do have names on them, but they don't check IDs at the gate.

I thought the posting on Craigslist requesting tickets and included a sad looking picture of her child was crap. It looks like one of those Sally Struthers, Feed the Children pictures.

Really, it's not that serious.
