Infertility Support and Discussion
I know that the monitor measures both estrogen and the LH surge. However, according to instructions it asks for first morning urine. I had always thought that's the wrong time to be taking OPKs. So, what's the difference here?
OPKs only measure LH, not estrogen. Hence, the difference between OPKs and the monitor.
The PP is right - it measures both and compares it over the course of a few days - and it gets to know you over a month or two, so recognizes the two hormones in FMU
OP, definitely do FMU, and make sure you're in the "window" of time that the monitor sets for you after day 5 or so (as per the instructions). E.g., if you normally wake up at 6am, don't sleep until 2pm on the weekend and do FMU then -- it won't be accurate
