Someone created an attack ad against Vincent Orange. Using his own words against him:



There could have been more examples added. For instance, Orange told GLAA that he would oppose the school voucher program:

I have been to four forums (fora for you Latin buffs), and don't recall the "social issues" coming up at all. I just found a survey of candidate positions on them at http://www.ultrateenchoice.org/special_election.html and discovered that there is only one social conservative in the bunch, at least among those who responded: Tom Brown. For me that's a shame, since it's a deal-buster for a candidate whom I had been favorably impressed by.

Orange's comment about the lack of moral fitness of those who approve of gay marriage had been one of the reasons I have never considered him. However, I have some very political gay friends who support him, so I guess his change is pretty convincing for them.
