Infertility Support and Discussion
Ladies, I know CM has been discussed in various context on this board, so forgive any repetition. I'm trying to monitor how my CM changes, and I definitely have noticeable wetness during the supposed fertile time. My concern is that moving beyond those days, I get very dry and I'm just not physically comfortable to have intercourse. I guess I'm just worried that the only time I'm actually feeling up to having interactions with DH is during the O-window, which is of course very brief, and of course again those days often are stressful for (schedules, moods, etc). Do others who hope to conceive also have this experience, or are you able to manage "normal" relations any time during the month?
... sorry, "stressful for us" (but mostly for me)
Lube! There are all kinds. I like KY Warming ... to me it's not necessarily warm, it's just not COLD like other lube. Go to a sex shop and ask for advice (there is one in Old Town down by the water on King Street... I think it's called La Tasch? They are totally mature and helpful there.). Or heck, even CVS is carrying racier stuff these days! If you are after O you don't have to worry about the lube interfering with semen. Good Luck.
Hi PP, I have tried to use lube, but somehow it's just never helping as I think it should. It's definitely something that I know people have found useful, like you're saying too. Maybe I do need to try a new one. I just wish I was less tight during the non-O times. I guess thankfully during the window it does feel more open down there, but then for rest of month ... shame it can't feel more receptive, naturally ...
Do others also have my trouble, during the "less wet" times, and/or do you always rely on a lubricant?
I started noticing dryness during non-fertile days a few months after I turned 36. We've been using Pre-seed ever since.
I would say to try different kinds of lubricant. I like Astroglide and we use it regularly, though not when TTC so I am about to buy Preseed. And I don't typically have dryness issues, sometimes we just don't have time to get me in the mood Which brings me to my next point - for me there is CM associated with fertile periods, but at any time of the month there normally is "wetness" during sexual activity. To me those are two different things, and it sounds like you don't get enough lubrication from just sex/foreplay. A lubricant should definitely help, just try a few different kinds.

OP again, thanks recent posters. I may look into Preseed, which seems to be mentioned here and there on different threads. It's frustrating, that I just had my fertile window (I believe), based on noticeable wetness (CM) (didn't monitor with OPK this time), but DH and I had off schedules. Now, as soon as that time is over, I've gotten that noticeable tightness/dryness again. It's almost like my body shuts down and says "Sorry, you missed it, too bad!" I know, a bit dramatic (but feels that way!)
i had a hard time using lubricants at first, like i felt like it was supposed to happen 'naturally' without them, but honestly it was too tough to have intercourse so often when we were TTC..... so now we use them and it has helped a lot, and taken some of the pressure off too...
