Synagogue/Jewish community in Mt. Vernon area?

Hi -

We currently live in DC and are looking for a home in the South Alexandria area - somewhere along the GW parkway between Belle Haven and Ft. Hunt. We are a half/half couple (husband is Jewish), and are wondering about the existence of any synagogue/Jewish community down in that area. Seems like most of the Jewish community is in the MD suburbs, and I know there is at least one big reform synagogue in McLean, but does anybody know of anything down that way?

We live down there and I don't think there is a large Jewish community like you'd see in other places. I'd like to think it is a really welcoming community nonetheless. I also grew up down there and certainly there are a good number of Jewish (and mixed) famlies.

Beth El on Seminary Road near Episcopal High School draws families from that area.
