If I join the zoo today (FONZ), how soon can I get free parking?

I would like to go to the zoo on Sunday. Does anyone know if my membership will be ready immediately? Will I be able to print something out to show the parking garage?

No, it won't. Join while you are there and you'll get a temporary card. It takes several weeks to get your real one. There are kiosks around the zoo where you can join. There's definitely one right across from the Panda/lunch/store pavilion.

Yes, just print out your receipt. It worked for me. Have fun!

Even with free parking, make sure you get there early. It fills up quickly.

You get to use the temporary card they give you that day for free parking when you exit. We did this a couple of weeks ago. The parking attendant had us write our member number on the ticket.

I've printed my receipt from joining online and used it the same day to park free.

We like to park in one of the last parking lots, the one nearest the petting Zoo, that way we walk up the hill and then when we are tired we are going down hill to the car.
