Are there any social clubs in DC to meet people and find friends?

DH and I are just not very social. We want to change it though. We are in our early 30s, no children. What can we do to meet people, expand our social circle and possibly make new friends? Thanks in advance

There are several social clubs downtown such as Army Navy, and there's the Tower Club in Tysons. Also you can join some country clubs on a social (no golf) membership without a long waitlist. You can also get more involved with your college alumni group - some of them have social meetings or clubs.

I am in the same position as you, OP, and have found it difficult to meet new friends. We joined a bunch of couples groups on meetup and though it's totally awkward to attend events at first, I have found them to be pretty good overall and we have definitely met cool people that way. You might also want to think about joining Jr. League, I met women that way too and many of them are married which lends itself to couples events. Good luck!
