Anyone recommend a general pediatrician with allergy specialism? NW DC/Bethesda/C Chase area?

Hi there

We are moving to the area and are looking for a pediatrician for our toddler. He has a severe milk allergy. We don't need an allergy specialist at the moment as we have things under control but would like to start with a general pediatrician who has an interest in allergies. Anyone have any recommendations for the NW DC/Chevy Chase/Bethesda area?

Thanks. Do you have personal experience of him? Do you know if he's taking on new patients? Might have to call the office as the website rather unhelpfully doesn't say what healthcare plans they accept. Does anyone know?

Do call the office. They take some health care plans (including ours -- MHBP (Fed)), but not many. We have personal experience w/Dr. Mattey and think he's great. The whole practice is fabulous- you will find lots of raves on DCUM.

Pediatric Care Center in Bethesda takes Beechstreet Network which is kind of a wraparound network so not all charges are covered but some are. Regardless, they are an EXCELLENT practice. I work for an insurance company and go out of network to see them. We have seen Dr. Mattey and he's good - you can't go wrong there. Very nice front staff as well.
