Question for frequent travelera

Does TSA allow you to carry on makeup of it's liquid, IE foundation, lip gloss, gel eyeliner? I'm worried with shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc I will exceed my allowance and since I just spent hundreds of doLlars at the bobbi brown counter, getting it confiscated would be a huge bummer. Thanks.

So long as the container is no larger than the allowable amount your fine. So, did you buy 3oz of lip gloss. gel eyeliner and foundation. I'm guessing no. you'll be fine

Right. 3oz containers or less, in a single quart size ziploc baggie. If you have more than that, check your luggage.

individual items each 3 oz or less..all must fit into one quart size bag.

How on earth can someone get that much into a quart size bag? Shampoo, conditioner, hair product, foundation, face wash, shower gel...

I would normally forgo some of this but I'm going on a work trip where I"m presenting and I have to actually look good.

either check a bag, downsize to super small portions (for ex., my hair creme can be squeezed in single-day portions into a tiny piece of tin foil and wrapped up like a piece of gum, so if I'm only going for 2-3 days I do this instead of bringing the whole 3 oz tube), or skip shampoo/conditioner/shower gel and rely on the hotel's product for a couple days - wont kill you!

Unless you're at the Motel 6, they'll have shower gel, etc., at your hotel. Ditch whatever is nonessential, or check your bag. Use makeup remover wipe instead of facewash. seriously, it's not that hard to figure out.

Worst case, run to CVS once you get there and buy what you need. You can dump it when you go home. But really, would it be so awful to bring less or, God forbid, check your bag?

Just pack 2 ziplocs. They don't pay attention to make sure each passenger only has one.

Also, I've never put tube items, like lipstick or mascara, into the ziplocs and haven't had a problem. And assuming it's not metallic, you can put smaller items in your pocket and walk through the metal detector.
