People like this should be charged for disinformation. This is like yelling FIRE in a movie theatre, when there is no fire.

Numerous people in attendance at the Rose Garden ceremony had met with each other in various combinations in the days leading up to the ceremony. I don’t know if they’ll be able to pinpoint a patient zero. It wouldn’t surprise me if multiple infectious people who hadn’t tested positive yet were in attendance.

Not to count the people they exposed themselves to. What idiots. Ethically irresponsible to all communities and also American safety. And now, national security.

American enemies are probably giddy and giggling with delight over what has happened in 4 short years under this administration.

You aren’t the only one who was fooled. It isn’t your fault when you are deceived. But once you know better you do better. You are doing the right thing now. Hopefully if we all do the right thing, we can work to restore faith in America being a country where our political parties all operate with a moral code that supports the constitution.

Thanks for your vote. Vote now, vote early.

I would hope and expect that, by the time you are that old, you have the wisdom to figure these things out for yourself.

Just like the Bible says.

I'm ~40 years younger than her and I think for myself. Under no circumstance would I attend an indoor event.

Now you can see how the party faithful look from the outside.

For the first time in my adult life I am truly having trouble respecting people who hold opposing views to my own.

That is not who I used to be. Very sad.

Or the Melania Tapes.

Or the debate.

The virus is handy for them.

The discussion is making everyone talk about all of his problems, not just covid. People are pissed.

Not all Covid patients are offered this (I believe oxygen saturations need to be 93 or below, and other qualifiers, etc. Age alone does not disqualify anyone). These patients are also given dexamethasone. This appears to be a combination that turns things around for just about all of the patients who have had this, including many older patients. That said, patients with preexisting conditions can find that they have lived through the ordeal thanks to the medications but are not the person they were before. Very diminished quality of life and some cognitive changes that are yet to be known whether they are reversible. This is just my anecdotal observation.

The remdesivir is 5 days and you have to meet a threshold of moderate illness to qualify, although that threshold may have been waived for Trump. Assuming Trump started the remdesivir last night, which it sounds like he did, his course will take him through Wednesday night. The convalescent plasma/antibodies is a single transfusion of plasma from Covid survivors who have donated after they have recovered. Perhaps he will receive this as well. The earliest Trump would discharge based on the remdesivir course would be Thursday October 8. The idea that he would be able to be on national television and a debate a week later seems inconsistent with what I have observed as the difficult path toward health for our patients, even those who have received this triad of treatments.

(BTW I am not in the DC area and not a doctor). This is just my two cents in this thread.

I’m sure he was able to bypass any protocols. But even he will just have to wait and see how his body responds.

Meanwhile my friend went to the ER and didn't receive any treatment. She was just sent home. It's disgusting he's getting all this special treatment after leaving 200k people to die and countless others to suffer lasting effects.

Thank your state and local officials for that.

No. This is on testing kits being available and how to prioritize items that were not nationally coordinated by the now covid infected president. States can choose how they operate, but the federal government works to help them in national politics. Which includes a public health crisis. Many of us were angry that he was trying to negotiate bidding wars and denying state supplies based on if they were going to endorse Trump or not.

But here is what I (as a public health professional) do not get. We have agencies charged with protecting workers' health. And many workers have unions.

If an OUTSIDE person or agent was putting these civil servants under risk, they would be stopped.

If Trump had not appointed unqualified sycophants to the heads of every agency, the secret service would have a place to go for protection.

Trump has decapitated (or castrated/infiltrated) the agencies that exist to protect us. Such as NIOSH, the EPA, DOJ, DOI, CDC.

He has harmed us more than ANY foreign leader. It is SO wrong that white house and congressional staff (who are often young), as well as these agents, have no public agency stepping in to look out for their welfare.

I was just trying to find the tweet by a doctor that said it is possible that ACB, having had covid this summer, might herself still be shedding live virus.

How poetic.

This is why HE is the national crisis. There is a reason a president should be removed from office if mentally unfit.

People were willing to roll the dice on electing Trump even with all of his disqualifications and potential risks that he could create because they knew that in the short term they could make billions and billions and billions of dollars. There were a lot of people still suffering from the losses in 2008. And in general very wealthy people do not handle the idea of losing their wealth in their autonomy and addressing whatever fears they have around that loss very well. Do you remember how many suicides and deaths there were about people who lost all of their money and just killed themselves?

^^ suffice to say, they tolerated his incompetence and dictatorship thinking it was short term and wouldn’t really have any lasting impact. They may as well have out Honey Boo Boo child in the Oval Office and elected her. She’s a child, and it would be illegal, but so is election fraud.

I understand this is sad, but it's refreshing to hear that some people are able to see it for what it is. Many cannot.

That’s why Pelosi went through with impeachment. I think she realized he may botch up covid, amongst everything else. If the republicans had a fair hearing and didn’t block testimony, and the White House wasn’t directed to ignore subpoenas, and the White House lawyer wasn’t a dirty criminal in bed with the mafia, we would have been able to address these problems. Honestly it would have been smarter for the GOP to impeach. At the time, pence would have had 5 months to convince America he was electable instead of the left. They could have argued being honorable and convinced a larger voter base to trust them.

So, so, so, so, SO stupid and short sighted. Idiots. The whole lot of them. They fired every single food public servant, threatened the others (where is that memo that went out to civilians right before corona hit? Basically saying if you don’t support trumo oersonally you can’t work for govt?)

Full dictator mode. Violating all paths to protect the constitution and SERVE the public. EVEN DEMOCRATS and INDEOENDENTS and NON-VOTING CITIZENS.
