The Democrats never speak about the bills that the Republicans refuse to vote on or vote no one like the pump act.
Democrats need to be out there all day everyday pushing their own narratives instead of always playing defense. Hell I don't even think they play defense half the time anymore.

Use examples like Colorado, where they gave free contraceptives, and the abortion rate droppd by half and the program more than paid for itself because WIC, CHIP and other costs drop too. Free contraceptives not only reduces abortions significantly, it is actually a fiscally conservative thing to do.

The CO Republicans canceled that because they didn’t like paying for women to have sex without consequences, even though it achieved a lot of their alleged goals-saving money and lowering abortion rates among others. We’re fighting for our basic rights against insane people.

Yeah, the Colorado test program is what proved to me that it’s not about being pro-life or even anti-abortion. When that report came out I thought “wow! Every state will do this!” Nope.

Precisely. It’s just a misogynistic desire to control women.

They are also against birth control. They just mostly keep that quiet at this point because that is even more unpopular than their anti-abortion views. Occasionally you hear them admit it though.

“But the wealthiest are in for some unpleasant surprises when it comes to abortion. The scenarios in which a woman needs an abortion include medical emergencies in which any delay in treatment can have severe, even fatal, consequences — and in those circumstances abortion pills obtained by mail won’t help.

One in 50 pregnancies in the United States is ectopic, for example, in which a fertilized egg implants outside the uterus. The embryo must be removed, and delaying that treatment can result in sepsis, internal bleeding and death. Placental abruptions must be addressed immediately to avoid extensive bleeding, renal failure and even, in some instances, death.

Any woman who finds herself in either of these scenarios is not going to be able to pack her bags and go for a long drive. Even for someone with the means, an airlift to a medical facility in another state may not be quick enough to save her. She will need to be treated locally and immediately. Some of the bans going into effect around the country include medical exceptions for these situations, but if there’s any ambiguity about what the law allows, the time it takes a medical professional to consult a lawyer may be the difference between life and death.

Some states are expected to try to ban interstate travel for abortions. Bans in Texas and Oklahoma leave room for that possibility. Planned Parenthood’s Montana branch has reportedly decided that it will no longer provide medication abortions for patients from certain states where bans are in effect or in the works, citing the “rapidly changing” legal landscape. It’s also clear that many Republicans view the Roe reversal as an inroad to a total federal ban. If they gain electoral victories in 2024, this is a very likely outcome, and in that case there will be no blue state abortion clinics to travel to. Even now, the lines and waiting times at abortion clinics in safe haven states are likely to get very long.”

Some good news:
“Ann Arbor Council Member Linh Song, who co-chairs the Reproductive Freedom for All ballot initiative: "Nearly 800,000 signatures have been gathered, the most of any ballot effort in the history of the state of Michigan."

I hope activist groups start demanding state referendums.

That's where it completely blows up. You can't be forcing women to carry every pregnancy to term AND denying contraceptives AND constantly trying to kill programs intended to support struggling families. That is so fcked up. Yet that is EXACTLY what the GOP is doing.

Every state should. It will save them tons of money and make people a lot happier. People should rise up and demand state referendums to provide free birth control. That will solve a ton of problems.

And anyone who opposes birth control... can simply opt out of it for themselves. NOT YOUR BUSINESS if someone else is using it. And NOT YOUR DOLLARS EITHER if someone else is using it, because the dollars end up being a net PLUS. It actually puts money back IN your pocket. Problem solved.

Rs don't want birth control solutions. That's abortion too in their minds.

Because short sighted stupid Republican voters keep voting for it.

Their hatred for women is obvious. They’re admitting it all the time.
