S/O: WISC-IV Testing and FCPS AAP

Anonymous
We are considering having a psychologist give my son the WISC-IV assessment for purposes of the FCPS AAP entrance. We would use the information for appeal if necessary, but also to make sure that the AAP is the "right" program for him. I have also heard that it gives you a good idea of your child's strengths and weaknesses. Anyway, I was wondering what score the FCPS AAP program requires.

Thanks!

No specific score, but should bet at the top in some of the categories.

This is a good idea. I did this with my DC just so that i knew whether I would want to refer him if he didn't make the pool. He did make the pool, so i didn't have to refer him - but understanding his IQ has been a huge eye opener for DH and I. You won't be sorry if you spend the money. From what I've read and heard it sounds like for an appeal the FSIQ should be 135 or above.
