| A friend of mine is amazing woman-single mother earning a middle class and kind of struggling with life. Any ideas for a birthday gift? |
| offer to watch kids and gc to a spa. |
| Gift certain to dream meals. |
Unfortunately, not an option because she lives out of state. |
| I'm a single mom - honestly what I would appreciate the most would be the gift of time - offer to babysit so I could have some time to myself, next would be a gift card to Toys R US, or Barnes and Noble, Visa gift card so I could get toys and books for my little guy, regular household items. |
| gift certificate to a day spa and $$ for a sitter. I've occasionally seen people advertise on sittercity for a sitter for a friend for a similar situation. |
| PP here...or a gift certificate to a family place where they can go and play games, dinner, have fun together as a family. |
THIS! Or invite her to spend a weekend at your place and stay with the kids while she gets a massage. |
Something she should have had before having a child, a husband. |

You say that she is struggling, so I do not think she would really want a sitter. That will not help her situation, not even for a day. A gift card is best, to a place like Target, that sells just about anything from a child's need, her needs, household needs etc. If not that, a visa card would be great too, that way she can spend it on whatever she likes, maybe a bill that she can pay online.
I am a single mother and I prefer gift cards at a place that is more useful than a spa, or getting my nails done. |
Pretty rude considering you do not know her situation, nor should it matter to you. The father/ husband could have died. Get a life poster.... Why can't people just remain positive on here? We should all be mothers and fathers on here, therefor, we should try to act like adults. |
| i'm a single mom. my first choice would be babysitting. if i was struggling financially, i suppose a gift card would be next best. unless of course there's something specific you know she's cut back on that she really likes.... |
