Recommend your pressure cooker

Anonymous
My pressure cooker isn't working, and the company (Kitchen Pro) went out of business. We are looking at stainless steel 8 or 10 qt pressure cookers. We don't want to spend hundreds of dollars. I've heard good things about Fagor and Presto. Which should we get?

We mostly use it to make soup and stews. I want to start buying dried beans and using the pressure cooker to cook those, too.

TIA!

I have a Presto I bought based on great reviews on Amazon. It's a large stainless steel one (has two handes, would fit a whole chicken - I could use a smaller one. Works very well and didn't cost over $50 from what I recall.

Buy one at an Indian grocery store. There are two Indian brands, one is Butterfly (I think) and I forget the other one. They are really well-built because Indians use them every single day, and often twice a day, so they last a long time.
