If you buy beef or other meat in bulk locally

Where do you get it, can you recommend your farm? Also can you give me an idea of how much product you actually get and a ballpark cost? Thanks, looking for somewhere local (we live in md but anywhere within a couple of hours would due) that we can get meat from and trying to figure out if we need to split it with another family or two.

We have gotten "samplers" (i.e. 7-10 lbs of mixed cuts) from West Wind Farm. I liked them a lot, but to be honest it just didn't make sense for us to buy 50 lbs or more of frozen beef at once (especially because it's kind of like a CSA-- you get things you wouldn't ordinarily buy and then figure out how to use them, which can be good or bad).

Here is their website (it indicates that a split half will give you about 90-100 lbs (final weight, not dressed weight) and cost about $550.
