frost or carson or herndon middle

I was hoping somebody who knows these schools and areas can help me out. I am looking at houses in all these three middle school areas, so pretty spread out, and would like to know if you would recommend one over another. I was hoping to move into 22043, 22046, but nothing is really available in my price range, 400K, for a 3 bedroom, 2 bath place. At least nothing that is acceptable to us. We would be Ok with a small place but will need storage as we have tons of stuff in a storage unit so I had to look further out. I was wondering which of these neighbourhoods will rent better if we need to rent out in a couple of years. Also, I see that some OK priced townhome/houses are in Annandale area that feeds into Frost/Woodson. Does anybody know when the boundaries will change and how? I am not worried about "diverse-non diverse" aspect since my kids are used to International school and really kids from all over the world, but I gathered from posters here that many renters will avoid renting because of schools, because it is "too diverse" or "not diverse enough." Many thanks in advance.

Rachel Carson is a top middle school that scores really well in Science Olympiad. I don't know about its feeder elementary or its high school, but I wouldn't hesitate to send my kid to Rachel Carson.

I believe Frost is also one of the top schools, as is Woodson, but I don't know any details.

Carson can feed into Oakton, South Lakes or Westfield HS, depending on location.

Herndon MS goes to Herndon HS.

Frost feeds into Woodson HS.

OP here. Thanks for the advice. Does all of Frost feed into Woodson? And out of Oakton, South Lakes and Westfield, do you recommend one over another? Many thanks.

Carson is by far the best school my children have attended (we have moved frequently and they have been in more than 7 different schools). The principal at South Lakes is the most helpful/hands on principal I have met. I like the IB program much better than AP. Westfield is huge, and unless your child is a superstar it will be hard to stand out or make sports teams. The Oakton is poorly run, google Banbury few of the students know who he is.

I didn't look at the forum and thought you were talking about middle names!

Me too! I was going to vote for Frost.

I can't see the words "Frost Middle School" without having PTSD flashbacks to 1982! Misery!
