Why do you take your smoking break right by the elevator door in our underground garage parking?

Yes, it's unsafe, unsanitary and just plain annoying! You stink and everybody in office talks behind your back because of your stupid habit.

Because that's where the trash can is. I don't like to drop cigarette butts on the ground for someone else to clean up. So I smoke near a trash can to be more courteous.

Whynot walk a few feet away from the draft of the wind? Oh i forgot smokers are never wrong and when they quit they get fat bacause of their thyroid

If everyone in the office has a problem with it, talk to management. I work at a government agency and enough people complained about this that they actually banned smoking near door ways and moved their little smoker trash cans off to the side. Problem solved.

The senior managers at the time were anti smoking enough that they also sent out a warning that the smoking area was to be kept perfectly clean at all times - he said if he ever walked by and saw butts on the ground, he would ban smoking on the grounds altogether.

I'm not a smoker, but just be happy that people can't smoke in bars, restaurants, etc anymore where you are exposed for long periods of time. I'm just happy I don't have to wash my hair before going to bed anymore! Its a free country. You're only walking past for a second. Get over it.

I'm a smoker and happy it was banned in restaurants and bars. Who wants to smell tons of smoke while they're trying to eat? Eww.

If you think that is bad, when my Dad was undergoing chemo all of the hospital workers would stand by the infusion center entrance and smoke. There's nothing like having to push a terminally ill patient in a wheelchair through a cloud of smoke. Sorry, I hate smokers. They are just so freakin' rude. Just this morning I was sitting in an outside area filled with children and babies and some jackass felt the need to sit there and blow smoke all over place. Twenty people couldn't enjoy the sunshine of a beautiful morning because one guy had to have his fix.

I used to smoke, I quit on June 15, 2008 (almost 3 years!!)
I have to say that, well, the majority of smokers just don't care. Nicotine is a horrible addiction, and like other addictions you tend to feed it no matter what, you don't really think about how it can affect others--or worse you do realize and don't care.
