I am having a dinner party for 22 adults. Its pretty informal with a mexican theme. I am doing tacos with hard and soft shells and offering chicken, beef and beans. How much chicken and beef should I make? If I make extra, any suggestions of what should I do with the leftovers?
We are also having chips/salsa, guac, rice, and corn salad. Thanks! |
| If you have lots of sides, you can probably get away with 1/4 of meat per person. |
| If you have leftovers, freeze some of it for manwich type of burgers and put some of it into lasagna and freeze it. |
| When I make tacos for our family of four, I make two pounds of beef and that lasts for two dinners for us. But we don't have extra sides. |
| Is there a way you could leave the meat on the side, and people could make their own? It might save you some hassle instead of trying to make the right number of meat vs chicken vs veggie tacos. |
| Its all make your own tacos, the meat, chicken and beans will be out and everyone can pout what they want inside. I just dont know whether to prepare 2 or 4lbs of meat, chicken, etc. |

I'd assume at least half a pound of meat per person but would adjust depending on the appetites (we have a few friends who can eat a ton). If you know appetites are small or that there are a lot of vegetarians, then I'd go with less.
So I suggest 6 pounds of chicken, 6 pounds of meat. |
