Where to shop (preferably online) for simple, substantial, contemporary but not too modern furniture

| I've ordered from Room & Board before and been happy with the quality but lately their stuff feels just a bit too modern for me. I like simple and clean lines but I also like furniture that looks/feels substantial. My taste is probably not very sophisticated--I actually tend to like some stuff from (gasp!) Pottery Barn and C&B, but I've been disappointed with the quality of both. I'm willing to spend a bit more than PB prices but I do have a toddler and another one in the works so I don't want something that will break my heart if it gets barfed on or painted on or scratched. Any suggestions? |
