| Looking for recommendations for the most pricey to the hole in the wall type of place. Thanks in advance!! |
| Love The Vegetable Garden on Rockville Pike. |
| I second vegetable garden! Further up the pike is yuan Fu vegetarian which is also good. Amma's kitchen in Georgetown is good too. I haven't worked downtown in a few years but there was also another indian restaurant called nirvana, on k st I think. |

Full vegetarian, or just good vegetarian options? Here are some good full veggie options
Amma's Kitchen in Vienna, VA Sunflower Vegetarian Restaurant (2 locations: Seven Corners/Falls Church, VA and Vienna, VA) Woodlands (Full vegetarian Indian) in Fairfax, VA Amsterdam Falalfel in Adams Morgan I've found that most places are very accommodating in terms of making something a veggie dish if it is normally made with meat. Check out www.VegDC.com and you can search by state |
sadly nirvana closed about a year ago. there is another indian place there now but not entirely veg and not nearly as good. |
| Udupi Palace in Langley Park/Takoma Park, MD, is a full vegetarian Indian restaurant. It's good. As others have mentioned, Vegetable Garden on Rockville Pike is always a good . I've read about Java Green in DC, but haven't tried it. It sounds good. |

Udupi Palace got dozed but merged with it's sister restaurant Tiffin in the strip mall next door. Now you have meat and vegetarian options under one roof.
Java Green is pretty good. Mark's Kitchen in Takoma Park is little hit and miss. Eclectic menu and decent prices. |
| Didn't Amma's in Georgetown also close? So sad, because it was DELICIOUS. However, they still have a VA location, in Vienna I think. |
| I love Mark's Kitchen. For indian, I recommend Heritage India in Glover Park. And Sunflower has two or three locations in VA and MD. |
I think the people behind nirvana operate the indian place in the old post office food court, which is pretty good (they also have a pamphlet there about veg. restaurants in DC I think) Are you looking for pure veg. restaurant, or places where a veg. can eat well? I think places like Rasika, Restaurant Eve, City Zen and Komi can accomodate veg. diners, as can many Italian places (like Dino, Tosca, Bibiana). |
|
Palena has a veg tasting menu in the restaurant proper and veg options in the cafe. CityZen also has a proper veg tasting menu.
There is an all veg Indian place in Langley Park in the strip mall at the nw corner of University and New Hampshire... I think it is also called Woodlands. It's pretty good. |
| I LOVE the lunch buffet at the Woodlands in Langley Park. |
|
Great Sage in Clarksville, MD, is also nice. It's an all vegetarian restaurant in a little shopping center with a Roots Market off of Route 108, near 32.
I didn't realize Udupi was gone, but I like Tiffin, too. |
