Sightseeing for preteen, teen girls

Anonymous
My nieces (8 and 13) will be visiting us for a week, and I'd like to do some fun sightseeing with them. My own kids are younger (and won't be joining us), so I don't have any great ideas for these ages. Any especially fun outings for girls these ages in and around DC? Thanks!

Georgetown for shopping and a snack.
See the monuments at night.
Alexandria for dinner and a Potomac boat tour.
Spy museum and Chinatown for lunch.
If they are into school I would take them on a walking tour of a campus (GW or Georgetown or AU).
Have fun!
