This is what needs to replace "global Warming"

This is the REAL threat. This article is almost definately about a hoax but make NO mistake, this is the plan of muslim extremist terrorists. This is a real possibility and becomes more of a reality as technology advances. This needs to be focused on, talked about and in the back of everyones minds. This is not political, a theory or a cause, it is a real threat and we will probably be in this situation sometime in the relatively near future. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2011/03/29/threats-claim-nuclear-bombs-hidden-all-over-u-s/

How this ties into Global Warming is beyond me. When the only person who can connect the dots is you, then you are the crazy one.

We should rationally plan for all kinds of threats from all kinds of nutters. Not just concentrate on one.

Be careful crossing the street, by the way.

The article says the letters aren't even a credible threat. Did you miss that part?

Uh, I'll alert the white house immediately. They probably haven't thought about the possibility of terrorists with nuclear weapons. Good job!

The PP you quoted here ... not sure why you've quoted me ... think you missed my point ... !

The point is that dubious "threats" like Global Warming are taking too much attention and real threats like terrorism with nuclear ties are getting too little.

This is The Threat. I think people like o think about Global Warming because it isn't that scary. Nuclear terrorism is too much of a real possibility that the mind cannot even process it.

People think about global warming because it is happening, and it can affect the whole planet. It is just happening slowly that there is no sense of alarm. Classic boiling frog problem.

The government has been working on nuclear terrorism since 1989. Why you don't know this, I don't know. They talk about it all the time. But the reality is that it is not as easy to build a real nuclear bomb as you imagine. And scary as it may be, the type that a terrorist could build, a dirty bomb, doesn't kill that many people.

So basically from a scientific perspective, your imagination is running wild on nukes and you are overly dismissive of the impact of climate change. Flame away, but our family is full of physicists, including nuclear physicists.

It is unsurprising that these fears are coming up after the Japan nuclear reactor incident. Now it is the big, scary thing. Ten years ago, it was anthrax. The public is fickle and irrational in its beliefs.

I like global warming. Its alot better than global cooling where we would starve. Global warming means more arable land to feed the world and less need for fossil fuel heat. Whether or not it exists is up to the Sun. But not too big of a deal to me. I mean the world warmed up like crazy since the ice-age. How did that happen? On second thought, who cares? Global warming is a non-problem.

80 suitcase nukes are missing from the old USSR. Iran is actively building Nukes and they are a terrorist mecca. Pakistan has modern nukes and rogue scientists and a military infiltrated by terrorists. Nukes are popping up everywhere. How are we combating this? It is never discussed in the media. Are we guarding the borders? Are we attacking the sources of potential proliferation and miniturization? Hell if I know! it is important to understand one of the points in that letter because it is true. The radical Islamists are on a suicide mission. They are not afraid of mutually assured destruction. They will set off nukes in the U S without any care that we would retaliate.

I forgot North Korea, they will also use nukes without fear. They are CRAZY!

You sound like the people who thought that second hand smoke was just a bunch of hooey. It turned out they were wrong.

You also sound like the people who thought real estate would keep going up. It turned out they were wrong.

You also remind me of the people who thought Y2K wasn't worth fixing. Turned out it was, and we did a pretty good job of it.

You also remind me of the nuclear plant designers in Japan who felt that it was not necessary to look at the last 3000 years of geologic history to decide where to place a nuclear reactor. Big oops there.

You were probably the poster who said that food supply was not a problem, and now skyrocketing food prices were one of the main reasons for Algeria and Tunisia. Oops, apparently the free market does not fly your excess cheeseburgers over to Africa.

Common sense is insufficient to assess complex situations. But to respond in the same terms, you are arguing that it is better to have a fever of 106 than to have your temperature drop to 92. Either way, you're in big trouble.

Climate change entails more than having Miami temperatures in Maine.
