Bethesda kid-friendly restaurant near playground?

Anonymous
My 2 kids (5 and 2 y/o) are meeting my friend w/ her twin 3 y/o in Bethesda for lunch. I'd like to be able to walk to a nearby playground/ play area where the kids can run around, if the weather cooperates. I live in NoVA so I'm not familiar w/ Bethesda and she's in town visiting in-laws so we don't have a lot of familiarty with the area. Any ideas?

There's a playground right next to the Bethesda Library on Arlington Road which puts you only blocks away from everything on Bethesda Row. Rio Grande, Mamma Lucia, Cafe Deluxe and Lebanese Taverna are very close to there and kid friendly.

I was going to suggest exactly the same as PP. Park in the public parking garage that you can access from either Bethesda Ave or Elm St (near the intersections with Arlington Rd.). I love going to Rio Grande with kids. If the weather is good, you can easily walk to the playground at the corner of Elm St and Arlington Rd. If the weather does not cooperate, you can just as easily walk up to the Barnes and Noble at the corner of Bethesda Avenue and Woodmont Ave and let the kids run around the children's section.

I would have suggested the same too. The park is newly renovated and it is great. It is between the library and Giant.
