In network dentist does not seem to be filing insurance claim

Anonymous
I had a procedure with in network dentist a few months ago, and since then they have sent me 2-3 bills without sending them first to insurance, which they should do (this is what they did with a previous procedure) and I paid the balance. I called them about it and they told me it was by mistake and to disregard the invoices. Since then I have called another 2-3 times to make sure that they actually file it. So far, no claim has been received. Anyone had similar experience? Don't want a year to pass after which insurance would not be responsible for paying it, and I will be stuck with the full amount.

I think these "mistakes" are enough to make one want to change dental practices. In any case, I'd definitely keep calling them and make it clear that you need that step to happen, or why not say it, that you're considering changing practices. They seem to want to be able to get away with it.
