Mmmmm, Pollo Rico

Anonymous
That is all.

Before DH and I were married, he lived right off Glebe in Arlington and when I would visit (from out of state) we would always go to Pollo Rico. The first time I went, he made sure to tell me that I had to be on the ball when it came to ordering as it was very Soup Nazi-esque when it comes to speed and efficiency.

Now we live in the burbs and we've tried some out here and it's just not the same.

Mmmmm, I might have to make a special trip to Arlington.

I knew someone was going to say that. Youre so unoriginal. I bet my Arlington commute is shorter than yours!

Work just a few blocks down. It's addictive. Even the gunk they give you for the fries. Mmmmm is right...

When my child was just eating solids about 9-22 months that is ALL he would eat. He would eat it and say mmm... it was so funny. Needless to say, we actually got a little tired of the place. We haven't had it for a while and I am not sure ds now 3.5 would go for it. but, the pollo rico baby days were hilarious.

OP, I have almost the exact same story as you - bf in Arlington whom I would visit and we always went to "Rico." Well, now we are married and live in Chevy Chase - which was a conundrum b/c it is so far from Arlington, but wouldntcha know it, there's one 10 minutes away in Wheaton!! That one was closed for a while b/c of immigration issues and then a fire but now it is back open and we got some just last weekend. We love love love our Rico!

To the Chevy Chase poster (and anyone else in the area) - check out Don Pollo on Wisconsin just north of Trader Joe's. We love it and get it at least once a week. We tried Pollo Rico once when we were in Arlington one day - it's also great, just a little different.

1- apparently they are also in Arlington, but we go to the one in Wheaton on University Blvd.
2- Duh, the chicken. Plantains are delicious as well. Must be washed down with Cola champagne.

Or try the Edy's by the Skyline Mall in Arlington. The chicken and cheese sandwich is amazing. Get the yucca too.
