The significance of Pence v Harris VP debate increases substantially..... Were either of them present at the first debate? I don’t recall seeing either.

You wish. Biden has been focusing on safe practices while Trump is meeting everyone and their mother maskless-and-indoors.

This is Trump with Melania and with I suspect a slew of uncomfirmed positives for the Rose Garden ceremony INSIDE the White House.

I feel bad for the elderly woman greeting ACB, who may have been the spreader.

That’s the widowed Mrs Antonin Scalia, standing in front of DIL, wife of Labor Sec Eugene Scalia.

Instead of quarantining he went to shake his tin cup. What a vile human.

I’m pretty sure he went to the debate not feeling well, maybe refusing to be tested so he didn’t know. I’m sure Trump would bald faced lie about receiving a positive test but not sure the USSS would. You don’t get that sick that quickly from Covid, it is usually day 7 or so that people start to need oxygen so unless he is in *real* trouble, he is lying to us. I hope it is just that and not more people lying.

If I remember correctly (from watching the West Wing) just being sick and in the hospital doesn't make you incapacitated. There has to be "a letter".

I just can’t

Everything I know today, I learned from Hollywood

Oh, please, WW was an Aaron Sorkin show. He insisted upon accuracy and had multiple former White House staffers as paid consultants for the entire run of the show (they're readily visible in the credits of every episode). No scripts went to the actors until they were fully approved by the experienced experts.

I work in a hospital which enrolls Covid patients in the clinical trials needed to get them convalescent plasma and remdesivir while they are inpatient. Not all Covid patients are offered this (I believe oxygen saturations need to be 93 or below, and other qualifiers, etc. Age alone does not disqualify anyone). These patients are also given dexamethasone. This appears to be a combination that turns things around for just about all of the patients who have had this, including many older patients. That said, patients with preexisting conditions can find that they have lived through the ordeal thanks to the medications but are not the person they were before. Very diminished quality of life and some cognitive changes that are yet to be known whether they are reversible. This is just my anecdotal observation.

The remdesivir is 5 days and you have to meet a threshold of moderate illness to qualify, although that threshold may have been waived for Trump. Assuming Trump started the remdesivir last night, which it sounds like he did, his course will take him through Wednesday night. The convalescent plasma/antibodies is a single transfusion of plasma from Covid survivors who have donated after they have recovered. Perhaps he will receive this as well. The earliest Trump would discharge based on the remdesivir course would be Thursday October 8. The idea that he would be able to be on national television and a debate a week later seems inconsistent with what I have observed as the difficult path toward health for our patients, even those who have received this triad of treatments.

(BTW I am not in the DC area and not a doctor). This is just my two cents in this thread.

Calm down, pp. No one’s disagreeing with you.

It didn’t seem like the usual prep for a protest or marathon. Something is happening

I’m sure he was able to bypass any protocols. But even he will just have to wait and see how his body responds.

It’s the same damn strain. It’s not that big of a deal as most people are a symptomatic, which appears that Trump is as well.

LOL. Now that he's hospitalized, this comment sure aged well.

I want to know what Trumpsters think of Trump having covid. Is it still a Dem hoax? Is it still NBD?

I confess, I don't know any Trump supporters, so can someone clue me in on what they are saying about this?

Well, we know that he didn't call the virus a hoax, but he DID say it was Dem hoax, because he feels that the Dems shutting down the entire nation to protect a small percentage of the population was over the top. And despite the fact that he knew he was in a susceptible category, he STILL went out and rallied for the American people.

Trump supporters like myself know the danger that China is to the world and know that China deliberately spread the virus, and that the WHO covered it up. And we appreciate the fact that Trump knows this. And we also know that Democrats do was well but they just don't care.

I guess you don't care about KAC or George Conway or Jenkins or Tillis or Stepien or any of them or their families. Protecting them is over the top. Wearing a mask is over the top.

Can you explain how the Governor of VA, a Democrat and a physician himself, got the virus?

From domestic staff working in the Governor’s mansion.

Where were the masks?

Meanwhile my friend went to the ER and didn't receive any treatment. She was just sent home. It's disgusting he's getting all this special treatment after leaving 200k people to die and countless others to suffer lasting effects.

Any update on Scalia’s widow? She is quite elderly and I imagine covid would be devastating to her health. She was probably reassured and reassured about how safe this event would be because everyone would be tested, blah, blah.
