Jeff, you are sitting on a gold mine!

This forum is a marketer's dream! Just google "Text Analytics for Marketing". You could make a killing if you teamed up with a small data/text mining outfit. The information that could be gleaned from here would be very valuable to companies.

Have a nice weekend!

I thought this was going to be a reference to Jeff's solid gold toilet.

How did you find out about that? Talk about data mining.

So, I Googled "Text Analytics for Marketing" and the only thing that came up were links to the 7th Annual Text Analytics for Marketing Summit and this post. Tell me more about it and I'll cut you in for a nugget or two.

I'm about to run out the door but here is a blog post with some information to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. You'd really need to sit down with some really smart folks to determine how you could turn your vast amounts of data into knowledge that companies would pay for. I'm not really smart enough to get you anywhere past the initial suggestion to look into it.

If you want me to look into local firms to talk to I can do that. Have a good weekend!

Wouldn't this essentially involve Jeff giving over our IP addresses to marketers? Or am I missing the point?

After reading the blog post, I am also not sure how we could apply this. It seems that any intelligence is derived from understanding relationships which we can't do without a way to identify users -- something for which even IP numbers are not sufficiently reliable.

No....your ip addresses are useless. They are interested in finding trends and underlying patterns that only become apparent when you analyze huge amounts of data.

OK, so that wasn't a good example. Try googling analyzing unstructured data. Again I'm not really smart enough to get you past the idea but it may be worthwhile to examine the value of your data.
