Anyone TTC with Mullerian Duct Anomaly (misshaped uterus with only one fallopian tube)?

Anonymous
About eight months ago, I became pregnant and had a "normal" uterine miscarriage at 8 weeks. My betas first dropped and then began to rise. Ten days later, I ended up in the ER and was admitted with a ruptured ectopic pregnancy (which was the reason why my betas dropped then rose). I have a bleeding disorder which made this ectopic very serious. It took me about 10 weeks for my body to reabsorb all of the internal bleeding. This sequence of events led to an MRI, which confirmed a mullerian duct anomaly (misshaped uterus and only one fallopian tube). My husband and I would still like to TTC but are very fearful of another ectopic pregnancy/complications. I am wondering if anyone has a similar circumstance and how they navigated the condition.

Forgive my ignorance, but didn't the ruptured ectopic damage your only fallopian tube?

IUI would bypass your tubes all together. If your health is at risk from the chances of another ectopic, you may want to go that route.

^^ Sorry, IVF would bypass your tubes.

The ectopic actually was located on my left ovary, which happens to be the side that I do not have a tube. Apparently, it is not impossible for a fertilized egg to travel throughout the cavity to go from one side to another. It just does not happen very often. Honestly, I still question exactly what was my anatomy prior to the ectopic and if the rupture actually caused more of this damage. It just seems to strange for everything to have happend on one side and not be linked.

Any thoughts on IVF Clinics/Drs?

Not personaly, but close friend had this and had 2 healthy singleton IVF babies. Of course, she was NOT able to get pregnant on her own, so the fact that you did probably makes a difference.

And I'll add that I get pregnant easily, but my pregnancies had more complications than my friends. Once she got pregnant, it was smooth sailing.
