Food, Cooking, and Restaurants
Has anyone been to this restaurant? We are looking for a nice place in SS to eat this Saturday - dinner without the kids! Not totally stuck on Sushi. Thanks for any guidance!
We ordered out from there once with some friends. We got sushi for the adults and chinese for the kids. The sushi was really good, but the chinese was pretty mediocre. We normally get chinese from Oriental East, on east-west highway, and it wasn't anywhere near as good, and that's saying a lot b/c oriental east isn't exactly the world's greatest chinese. But if you like sushi, go for it. Have you been to 8407 Kitchen Bar? It's right by the metro, off of Georgia Avenue. I haven't been yet, but friends of ours say it's really the best place they've been in silver spring.
Thanks for the info. I just gave 8407 Kitchen Bar a quick browse and it does look and sound good. Also it gets great reveiws! Thanks for mentioning it.
We get sushi from there just about every weekend (yay curbside pickup!). The food is good. We ate lunch there once. The atmosphere is ok, pretty run of the mill Chinese restaurant vibe. Nothing too special but not awful either.
kitchen bar rocks! amazing food!!!!
Yeah, not someplace I'd recommend - not too special or awful. 8407, Jackies, or Rays would definitely beat out for babysitter nights (Where did you end up going, btw?).

I would not recommend Asian Bistro if you are really looking for a great meal. Sushi Jin is pricier but is right up the street on Fenton if you want sushi - some of the best sushi we've had in this area (and DH and I a bit snobby when it comes to sushi).
I've never been to Kitchen Bar but heard it's great as well. |
OP here. Things got busy and we ended up sticking with a quick meal at Asian Bistro. Posts were corect - not bad but definately nothing to write home about.
