Good brew pub for DH's birthday?

My kids and I would like to take DH out for his birthday to a good restaurant/brewpub that has a good selection of beer.

I know there are places like Granville Moore's, but my kids (ages 9 and 11) probably wouldn't eat mussels.

Does anyone have a suggestion of a good place to go in Maryland or DC?

Brasserie Beck or Birch and Barley are possibilities. Also I think Dogfish Head has restaurants in the VA (and MD?) suburbs now.

Birch and Barley is great. Better than Brasserie Beck and more kid friendly imho.
