| She's been sick for, what, two decades? God rest her soul. |
|
She was a Hollywood icon.
I am sad today that she has passed, but more so that my mother (who recently past) isn't here to tell me why she was so important. Because young people of today wouldn't know much about her, but our parents and grandparents will certainly be reminiscing about Elizabeth Taylor today. Lilac eyes! |

Yet is some new "star" died who made 1 B list movie it would attract more attention

She was so beautiful in "Ivanhoe". And so poignant in "Cleopatra".
Sad day for us, but probably a merciful release for her. |
| She reminds me too of my mom |
| She was old & sick already. Anyone know how many ex-husbands she survived? |
Easily Googled. |
| Right. I know she had 7 husbands, I was just wondering how many of them were still kicking. |
| What a life she had! RIP |
| The tabloids will go crazy. Peace to her spirit. |
sorry your mom died |
Same here. My mom is the same age and has a very similar persona except German and blond and married only once. Ha! Yes. Why is it sad though? She had a very full life. |
| My mom is the one who told me she died. Mom is 78 and basically said she grew up with Elizabeth Taylor. When she was young, everyone just marveled at her beauty. She was gorgeous, with violet colored eyes. |
| OMG! We just watched Cleopatra last week. My DD is studying Ancient Egypt in school and I wanted her to see it. The second half of the movie where she is in the relationship with Marc Antony (Richard Burton) really seemed less like a movie and more like their real life marriage together. So sad. The passing of an era. |
I saw #6 recently. He's getting up there himself. |
