What is going on at McKinley (Principal Pinder)

Anonymous
WTOP reports that there's allegation that the current principal is changing grades? Which, maybe I think is in his purview to a point. But I am hearing he's changing grades to reflect passing in classes that he taught. Now, unless he's teaching through a virtual classroom, why does he think he would not be caught with such a blantant lie? What is the breaking point for egregious behaviour and immediate removal regarding this principal? I am all for due process but if one can reassign or remove a principal as in a Hardy situation, what is DCPS awaiting for with McKinley.

Kaya, these are major concerns that will readily be addressed at your confirmation hearing.

Small world the robinson who's so outspoken about mckinley tech is the sister of allen lew's chief of staff kevin robinson. Why is it that when it was Fenty administration all the McKinley's allocations fell on deaf ears. Here it is a Gray administration and everybody who's related to someone is getting their 15 minutes of fame. OneCity seems like it is one big dysfunctional family.

Gray and Brown are helping the Blacks, it is that obvious.

Allen Lew's Chief of Staff is Warren Graves. Rhonda Robinson worked at McKinley in 2008 and 2009. That was under Fenty. Would you prefer she not speak out about this sort of thing? I have no idea what else you are trying to say. "Gray and Brown are helping the Blacks"? In what century do you live.

Here's some free advice. If you want to convince anyone here of anything, get your facts straight, try to make a modicum of sense, and leave your racism at home.

You GO Jeff!!! For the sake of those students and their families, I really really hope the class waivers for sports is not true. Students deserve better than to be set up for academic failure. (Hellooooo NCAA)

Pinder is either hypocritical or naive http://www.nbcwashington.com/on-air/as-seen-on/Education_Nation__McKinley_Tech_Principal_David_Pinder_Washington_DC.html

Maybe those kids were actually qualified to pass? Fingers crossed that was the case. I think educators who knowingly pass the buck on students' underachievement should be charged with child endangerment and government fraud.

Looks like Kaya's the one with the broom.

jsteele, ok the fact of the matter tony robinson (Director of Public Affairs currently with Lew and former Director of Communications with Lew) and rhonda robinson are sister and brother.

The coincidence of what job one has as it relates to the other is noticeable. Just saying if one can have a cloud of having a "frat brother" be a reason for misgivings, then the correalation above does make sense.

As for the century, well if the recent polls are any indication then I am living in the current one that is racially divided. Which is plan as black and white. Sweetie.

I commend Rhonda for coming forward but again when she did this under the Fenty administration...it fell on deaf ears. Here it is now a Gray administration and all of sudden a sense of urgency is being examined. It has all of the inklings of looking at the same incident with rose-colored glasses.

C'mon you have to admit the only thing that has changed from the testimony of 2 and half years ago is Gray and Henderson positions. Gee, if Henderson is gonna to use the same broom, then at least sweep a little faster. But respect the fact of due process is in order for the principal

So, you are some sort of aggrieved Fenty dead-ender trying to make this into an anti-Gray incident? Good luck.

First, I still have no idea what your complaint is about the relationship of Tony and Rhonda Robison. One works for Lew and once used to work for the school system during the Fenty administration. Wow, that makes Gray look really bad. Let's impeach him. I guess you feel there is more to it than this, but you are going to have to be a bit less circumstance for me to understand it. Unless you can point to millions of dollars of contracts going to Rhonda because of Tony, I can't see any similarity to frat brothers.

Yes, there are still many racists in America. Most of them have the sense to try to hide it. The fact that you take pride in displaying your racism makes you rather unique among the non-sheet wearing set.

If Fenty and Rhee ignored Rhonda, I am not sure what that has to do with the Gray administration. You should complain to Fenty and Rhee. The fact that Henderson and Gray are acting on the charges is a good thing. Due process is being followed. Pinder is still being paid and Henderson emphasized that being placed on paid leave is not a finding of misconduct. Remember that there is also the matter of an $100K grant to McKinley having gone missing. So, there is a lot to investigate.

I still don't have a clue what argument you are actually trying to make. Are you really upset that misconduct charges that were ignored by Fenty and Rhee are now being investigated and that the person behind the charges has a brother who works for Allen Lew and that this some how helps black people? Is that it? Is that really it?

Curiouser and curiouser. Me thinks Rhee and Lew might disagree with said rambling.

I hate to throw more goats under the bridge. But if there is a point, or someone has more insights in McKinley and Rhee-appointees, that would be great.

(Since when does a family sibling mean anything? It's hardly a secret.)

Did they not say that McKinley has the largest graduation rate? How is that, with Banneker's controlled entrance and exit? There was talk last school.year that he [Pinder] was going to Chicago's school system and all sudden those plans were sqiuished. I just thought of him as an eminem type of a guy. His grasp or attempt to run a school like his previous profession a car salesman, pretty much keeps the statement alive of "there is a sucker born every minute."

Someone mentioned due process, when a federal probe has commenced, it has crossed a threshold of egregious acts. If not, all was needed was for DCPS headquarters to out wait Pinder til June 30 and not renewed his contract.

Just thinking out loud here but aren't principals in this city unionized? Not one word....eerily quiet from the union leadership; as I understand it, this union represents school counselors too. AWKWARD!!!!

I just caught the news report. The operative word was "investigating" as it was investigated in 2009 and reinvestigated in 2011. What happen between 09 thru 11? Who ignored or dropped the ball? This is why Pinder is not the only one who should have to worry about due process or job security. Tsk, tsk, tsk

Dominoes are beginning to fall, the first one to go is the former investigator who lied on Lisa Ruda.
