Spring Break Camp in FCPS

Anonymous
Does any FCPS offer any camps during spring break? Thanks.

The schools do not offer camps. SACC has camps, but you should call now as there have been waitlists at many for some time now. We just gave up our slots since we'll be doing the Reston Y camps.

new poster here - so our DD starts K next falll and we've been on the waiting list for BC/AC and Spring/Winter break sessions with SACC since the day we were eligible to sign up.

If we really do not want to use SACC for Spring/Winter break, when do you need to start looking for alternate camps? It looks like the FC Rec Centers don't open their sessions this early.

I'm just getting overwhelmed at the schedules and how early you need to sign up for some things and not for others. Does it get easier after a year or so of school?

No, it doesn't get any easier. In my opinion it only gets worse as kids get older and their interests begin to narrow.

The Rec Camps are open to registration. Registration started February 8, but I think there are probably still slots. I signed my kids up for those.

I think it does get a little easier as you learn what to expect and which camps are local to you and best for your kids. But it does require you to be organized and able to plan in advance.
