I have a fondue pot. It's lovely and is part of a big set on a lazy Susan. Got it at Crate & Barrel as a wedding present. I have used it once and that was 15 years ago.

Any of the hundred fondue pots you can find at any Goodwill?

We have a Le Creuset one and actually use it reasonably frequently in the winter.

The first one is nice because you can use flame or electric-- nice when you don't have sterno for the flame. The second one is nice because you can put it on your stove-- makes preparing the fondue easier as you only have one pot to clean at the end rather than two.

Either choice would be a good one.

Too often, they're made of aluminum--too thin, allows what's in pot to burn.

The Wall St journal Weekend section just did a review of fondue pots a few weeks ago -- you may want to search their site for info.
